Convocatoria: beca para asistir a la Conferencia Anual de la Asociación de Historiadores de las Relaciones Internacionales de EEUU





CALL FOR PROPOSALS
SHAFR GLOBAL SCHOLARS GRANT and
Membership Committee Panel at SHAFR
Annual Conference, Lesington, Kentucky, June 2014


The Membership Committee of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR) welcomes applications for the SHAFR Global Scholars Grant (SGSG). The grant will fund up to $2,000 for travel to the 2014 SHAFR Conference in Washington, D.C. to participate in a sponsored panel. Applicants must submit Paper proposals, along with this application form. Full panel proposals are welcome. For those papers not accepted to the panel, the Membership Committee will recommend to the SHAFR Program Committee their consideration for inclusion in other panels at the conference. Please note that this recommendation is NOT a guarantee of paper and panel acceptance by the Program Committee.

Eligibility:  Eligibility is open to all international (non-American) faculty and students studying anywhere in the world, including the United States.  Students must be at doctoral dissertation research stage (ABD). 

APPLICATION must include:

3. If currently a student, provide evidence of doctoral status (statement from an advisor).

4. Prior SHAFR experience, if applicable (ie: attendance at conferences, membership, etc.).

5. Funding needs:
a) Evidence of request to home or other institutions for travel funding to
SHAFR conference.
b) Budget estimate (airfare, ground transportation, hotel (at least 3 nights),
per diem meal allowance), based on up to $2,000 in SGSG funds.

6. One-page abstract, including:
a) Paper title
b) Summary of paper (including how it addresses the theme of panel)
c) Indication of sources (Preference to multinational research)
